Combating Stress with Relaxation
Everyday we have some sort of stress that we have to manage. Adding relaxation techniques into your daily routine helps reduce symptoms of stress and it’s harmful effects.
Taking deep breaths from the abdomen and filling your lungs as much as possible and then exhaling slowly and releasing air from the lungs. Breath in through the nose and exhale through the mouth.
Progressive Muscle Relaxation
Two-step process in which you tense and relax different groups of muscles in the body, Practiced in combination with deep breathing. Sit comfortably, eyes closed, deep breathing. Tense and relax muscles beginning with the feet and slowly progress up the body ending with tensing and relaxing face muscles.
Being in the moment and focusing thoughts on a repetitive action, breathing, word or object.
